23AbstractAdolescence is characterized as a developmental stage in which risky behaviors such as drug use or antisocial behavior may emerge. The UNODC World Drug Report highlights that preventing the emergence of negative coping behaviors, such as drug use, is crucial during childhood and adolescence. This study analyzes data from the World Drug Report (2024) and the European Institute of Studies on Prevention (IREFEA) to understand global data on drug use and information regarding the main recommendations on evidence-based prevention. First, it should be noted that, according to the World Report, drug use remains high worldwide. Regarding evidencebased prevention, IREFEA highlights the main characteristics of existing prevention programs in schools and families that have proven to be truly effective. It is therefore necessary to address the specific characteristics of this developmental stage, to promote effective parenting practices at home that protect children's behavioral health, and, above all, to identify the implications for at-risk groups using an interdisciplinary approach by professionals trained in the field. Keywords:Drug use, risk behaviors, prevention, adolescence, best practices.
